Option 1 - Email the file directly from Google Drive
- Upload the file you wish to share to Google Drive
- Right-click the file and select Share > Share
- Enter the email of the individual or school you wish to share the file with.
- Change from Editor to Viewer
- From the same menu, Add expiration date to remove access after that date.
- Add any instructions or comments in the Message section.
- Send the file
Option 2 - Copy the link to the file and paste into an email
- Follow steps 1 through 5 above.
- Click the Copy link button in the lower-left corner of the window.
- Paste that link into your email message.
- Google Drive files are encrypted.
- Prevents unauthorized disclosure for Google and non-Google email users.
- Requires non-Google email users to enter a code emailed separately to open the file.
- Adding an expiration date adds another layer of security.
